Looking for a traditional synagogue based High Holiday experience? Take a 'Jewber' ride to any St. Louis area congregation for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and we will reimburse your ride cost.

Stop by our pop ups around campus for apples and an array of honey flavors to sample to get ready to welcome a sweet New Year!


Shofar Pop-Ups
The sound of the shofar signals the arrival of the High Holiday season and the start of the Jewish new year.  Be on the lookout for Rabbi Jordan as he makes his way around campus on the Hillel shofar-mobile to welcome Rosh Hashanah with this important mitzvah! 

Friday, September 15
Erev Rosh Hashanah Dinner & Concert | 6pm | S40 Swamp
WashU's award winning Higher Holidays concert is back!  Bring your friends and blankets for a delicious boxed picnic dinner and stay for a star studded concert in the Swamp, as WashU’s most popular acapella groups and Rick Recht inspire and rock you into the new Jewish year.

A New Take on a New Year: 5784 Years in the Making | 10am | Goldberg Formal Lounge

Students are invited to enjoy a delicious lunch outdoors to usher in the new year.  Menu is salmon wellington (GF option salmon / Veg option TBD), noodle kugel, broccoli and cheese quiche, with green salad, and brownies for dessert.  Sign up here.

Hard Cider Tasting | 8pm | Hillel 
What better way to celebrate a sweet new year than with a hard cider tasting on beautiful evening under the Hillel tents!  Join us for a twist on the important (and tasty) mitzvah of enjoying apples and honey!  This is a 21+ event; please bring your ID. Sign up required

Conservative Services at Kol Rinah | 8:30am| Meet at Big Bend and Forsyth 
Looking for a traditional High Holiday experience in a warm, inclusive synagogue setting? Look no further! Located on the corner of Maryland Ave and Hanley Rd,
Kol Rinah is just a 15-20 minute walk from the South40 or a short ride using our Jewber service.  A group will be walking together from the corner of Big Bend and Forsyth at 8:30am. 

Rosh Hashanah Lunch | 1pm | Hillel 
Students are invited to enjoy a delicious lunch outdoors to usher in the new year.  Menu is chicken schnitzel (GF grilled chicken / Veg stuffed pepper), Caesar salad and roasted potatoes, with apple turnovers for dessert. Sign up

Tashlich | 2:30pm | Meet at Hillel
Tashlich is the Rosh Hashanah tradition in which the Jewish people gather at a body of water to pray, reflect, and symbolically cast off their sins in preparation for the new year.  Join Rabbi Jordan and friends after lunch for Tashlich in beautiful Forest Park!  Meet at Hillel to walk over to the pond together
